Well, it wasn’t a White Christmas this year in New York City. But the day after Christmas was white. And so was the day after the day after Christmas. A powerful snow storm (complete with thunder!) pummeled the East Coast, dumping 20 inches on Central Park and 24 inches in Brooklyn. Both NYC and Boston were completely paralyzed by the blizzard. And thousands of holiday air travelers were stranded was LGA, JFK and Newark remained closed for more than 24 hours.
Central Park was transformed into a proper winter wonderland, as New Yorkers dusted off their cross country skies, snowshoes and sleds. There was even more snow than there was during NYC’s last official Snow Day in February. (Check out those snowy photos here.) Whether you want to call it Snowpocalype, Snowmaggedon or simply the Monster, you’ll enjoy these photos of the white stuff.
