It’s so nice when my toddler, husband and I can agree on something when we’re traveling or even when we’re not traveling. We all agreed that by far the best part of Geneva’s Botanic Garden is the Carrousel des Fables, which translates to the Carousel of Fairy Tales. This beautiful carousel has unexpected animals that are part vehicle, and they’re all based on the stories in the poems by Jean de La Fontaine. The carousel was created by Copyrart, a Geneva organization that teaches unemployed people new skills, in 2002 and arrived in the Botanic Garden in 2004 after a two-year stint in the English Garden. We only had one full sight-seeing day in Geneva but we let our son ride the Carrousel des Fables twice — we all loved it!

Not sure if I would enjoy this as a kid, or be frightened. But as an adult, it’s awesome!
