Santa Claus’s round-the-world flight every Christmas Eve has long been the envy of the travel world. Circling the globe by private jet, er sleigh, and getting to see all the world’s best Christmas lights sounds like it would be the perfect winter holiday. For those who can’t figure out how to hitch a ride with Santa (security is tight at the North Pole), here’s what the big man himself and his reindeer will be admiring in Austria, Estonia, Singapore, Minnesota, Madrid, Athens and Atlanta.
Vienna is at its most magical during Christmastime. If Santa needs to buy last-minute gifts, he can stop by the Christmas Market in front of the City Hall.

You can always count on Madrid for modern design that blends perfectly with the Old World architecture — even when it’s Christmas lights.

If you’re going to hang lights, then why not lamps? Love these holiday lights in Athens. Photo by sixtwelve/Flickr.
