A faculty adjunct for social media at Columbia Journalism School, Liz Borod Wright has taught with Prof. Sree Sreenivasan for the past three years. A social media coach, consultant and freelance writer, she first became passionate about social media through the need to to drive web traffic to her travel blog, Travelogged.com, in January 2009, without spending money on advertising. Being an early adopter has served her well, and she has worked as a social media consultant for the Austrian Tourist Office, Perrier Jouet, Dataminr and Partnership for a Healthier New York City. She has also worked as a social media coach, working one-on-one with dozens of writers, entrepreneurs and publicists to show them how they can best use social media to accomplish their professional goals.
Liz also has an extensive background in journalism. She held editorial staff positions at major websites, including Zagat.com, ABCNews.com and Fortune.com. She has worked at magazines such as Good Housekeeping, Life & Style Weekly and Folio. She is also a freelance writer, recently appearing in Martha Stewart Living, Mashable.com and Travel & Escape’s blog.
Liz received her Bachelors in Communication from Cornell University. While an undergraduate, she was a White House intern in the West Wing Office of Communication.
