I'm back in chilly NYC after a great trip to Grenada. But in cyberspace I'm over on Heather Cowper's excellent travel blog Heatheronhertravels.com guest-blogging about why it's a good idea to stay in Goreme, Turkey, if you're looking to explore the Capoddocia region. (The photo above was taken in June at 6 AM from the balcony outside my hotel room at Goreme's Sultan Cave Suites — the broadcasts from the mosques woke me up in time to see the daily hot air balloons.) You may remember Heather's post for Travelogged about touring the historical sites of Lebanon. Please check out my article for her about Goreme here.

I’m so jealous of your trip to Grenada, my parents get some winter sun in the caribbean every year, usually in St Lucia. So want to go to one of the islands – give me tropical beaches over ski-ing any day
