 Scenes From 17 Mile Drive

If you’re a golf enthusiast or you are traveling with one (as I am), then you have to do the 17 Mile Drive when you’re in the Monterey/Carmel area. The 17 Mile Drive is a scenic loop that takes you through four golf courses, including the world-famous Pebble Beach. You have to pay an admission fee of $9.25 per car at the gates, but in exchange you get a map that points all of the must-sees. Even if you’re not a golf fan, there’s plenty of great visuals to keep you entertained, like the Lone Cypress (pictured left) and seals. The best views we saw of Pebble Beach were at The Lodge of Pebble Beach. I sat in the lobby, warming myself by the fireplace (as you can see in the photos, the weather was a bit gray, cold and windy), and I was very impressed with what I saw of this hotel. If you’re looking for a luxurious golf vacation, put that one on your short list.
