Whenever I’ve told people that I’m considering a vacation in Nova Scotia, they always say something like “oh, my parents really loved it” or “my grandparents had the best time there.” OK, Atlantic Canada may not be the hippest destination. But its natural beauty more than makes up for that — at least I think it does as I haven’t actually been there yet. And they’ve got the Bay of Fundy, home to the highest tides in the world with 100 billion tons of seawater flowing in and out every day. That’s pretty cool, right? Even cooler is that once a year, the tide gets so low that you can walk (or run) out to the Five Islands. This year that’s happening on Saturday, June 27th, and Sunday, June 28th. That’s also when the third annual Not Since Moses race will be taking place. Sunday is already sold out, but you can still sign up for Saturday and do either 5K or 10K walk/race. This won’t be like any other run you’ve ever done — your sneakers will definitely get soaked. The video below from the Bay of Fundy tourism folks shows last year’s race and gives you a good idea of this unique experience.
